Interfaith Support for NC Rabbis’ Message to Trump

150+ NC Faith Leaders Amplify Courageous Passover Letter

On April 13, 2025, at the start of Passover, 18 North Carolina rabbis published a courageous holiday message, calling on the Trump Administration to reverse course on its draconian deportation agenda and adhere to democratic norms:

As rabbis from North Carolina, we therefore call upon the administration to stop wrongful detainments, uphold the pillars of due process and end policies that threaten the very freedoms that have allowed Jewish communities to thrive in this nation.

...

This Passover, when we recount our journey from oppression to freedom, let us be strengthened in our commitment to uphold justice, democracy and the rights of all peoples.

The message reverberated with clergy all across the state. At the encouragement of UU Justice NC and the North Carolina Council of Churches, more than 150 faith leaders signed on to a letter amplifying the rabbis' message.

We are so heartened by this act of interfaith solidarity. This is how we build and protect our multi-racial, multifaith democracy.
