UUA’s Side With Love Organizing and Strategy Team

UU Justice NC works in close relationship with the UUA’s Side With Love Organizing and Strategy Team. We’re proud to partner on national campaigns like UU the Vote. We also grow as spiritually grounded and skillful organizers for justice through Side With Love’s ongoing programming including Organizing School - It Starts with Faith, and monthly Skill Up Events. In 2021, Side With Love also launched their Action Center  - a platform where UUs can come to find opportunities for direct actions, programming, and training. Check out their List of Events.

UUs for Social Justice

Through UUSJ’s leadership at a federal level, UU Justice NC is able to move in alignment with UUs across the country, fighting for legislation that is aligned with our values. Through their coordination of legislative visits, North Carolina UUs frequently have the opportunity to meet with our state’s US Senators and Representatives. UUSJ also helps to coordinate UUs assemblies during major actions in Washington DC, and organize timely Action Alerts and monthly Write Here Write Now letter writing campaigns in the areas of Democracy, Immigration, Environmental Justice and Economic Inequality.

Coalition of UU State Action Networks

UU Justice NC is proud to be a part of a network of Unitarian Universalist State Action Networks across the country. (24 states and growing!) Through monthly meetings and other regular communications we’re able to move in alignment with one another and our national UU partners to harness the full power of our faith. These vital relationships also allow us to gain a deeper understanding of the national justice landscape, collectively discern strategy, support each other’s work and simply remember that we are not alone. CUUSAN also supports the growth and development of new State Action Networks.

UU Service Committee (UUSC)

The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) works to advance human rights together with an international community of grassroots partners and advocates. They focus on the  intersecting roots of injustice to defend rights at risk due to criminalization and systemic oppression of people based on their identity and respond to humanitarian crises as partners with people whose access to aid is most limited. UU Justice NC is proud to frequently organize NC UUs participate in UUSC actions and grow as informed and spiritually grounded organizers through UUSC’s educational programming.

UU Ministry for Earth

The Unitarian Universalist Ministry for Earth seeks environmental justice, beloved community and the flourishing of all life. Through their leadership, North Carolina UUs are able to intentionally and effectively contribute to national climate justice campaigns like Stop Line 3 and Build Back Fossil Free.

UUMFE also offers a range of resources and opportunities for spiritual nourishment grounded in our UU faith. To learn more about UU Ministry for Earth, check out their website and sign up for their mailing list.

DRUUMM

DRUUMM is a Unitarian Universalist People of Color Ministry and anti-racist collective of individuals who identify as People of Color. They are an all-volunteer ministry, bringing lay and religious professionals together to overcome racism through resistance and transform Unitarian Universalism through our multicultural experiences.

In 2022, UU Justice NC was proud to partner with DRUUMM on an event for North Carolina UU Congregations to learn about and consider adopting the 8th Principle.

Transforming Hearts Collective

The Transforming Hearts Collective represents a vision of a world in which queer and trans people can show up fully as ourselves in all of the places we call home. They support spaces for LGBTQ people to access resilience, healing, and spirituality, and we resource faith communities and other groups for the work of radical inclusion and culture shift.
