Building an Inclusive, Multi-Racial Democracy in North Carolina
In 2024, UU the Vote was by far the largest activation of UUs in the history of our state with over 1,100 UUs across 21 NC congregations getting involved. That’s nearly 1 in 5 UUs in the state. Together we reached out to over 100,000 voters in North Carolina – and did so in deep partnerships with our friends in the movement.
But you ain't seen nothing yet. In 2026, we're ready to deepen our impact as part of our state's non-partisan movement to create a truly multi-racial democracy in NC.
Post Card Writing with Reclaim Our Vote
This election cycle, 20 UU Congregations across the state are coming together to write over 30,000 postcards in partnership with Reclaim Our Vote. And thanks to the UU Funding Panel, every participating NC UU congregation has received a $1,000 grant to fund this project in addition to congregational UU the Vote launch parties across the state.
We are excited to be writing to registered Black voters in Mecklenburg County notifying them about early voting information specific to their county.
If you have not already gotten involved, reach out to your congregations UU the Vote captain! Postcards should be completed and put in the mail between October 5th - 13th!
And when you're done writing postcards, be sure to volunteer for one of the many other critical volunteer rolls this election season with our trusted partner organizations.
