UU the Vote 2022

Postcards are Back!

This fall, 20 UU congregations across North Carolina are coming together to write 27,000 Get Out the Vote postcards in partnership with UU Justice NC and Reclaim Our Vote. This is the largest collaborative effort in our state network’s history! Together we will be writing to registered but infrequent voters of color in Cabarrus County, NC with information about early voting for the 2022 mid-term elections.

This project is primarily funded through a joint grant from the UU Funding Program. A very big thank you to the Eno River UU Fellowship in Durham for serving as the lead grant applicant and the 19 other congregations who signed on as co-applicants. Each participating congregation has been awarded $500 for their UU the Vote postcard writing project, totaling $10,000 of financial support for this work!

Additionally, earlier this year seven congregations worked together to write 7,000 postcards to Union County, NC voters in partnership with our friends at the Munroe Democracy Center. That means, as a state-wide network, we'll be writing 34,000 postcards this year!
